A workplace scene can be peaceful, yet productive. However, it can also be stormy and threatening. What makes all the difference is how people are treated.

The good news is that the climate in your workplace can be controlled, and the results will be worth far more than the effort it takes. The Society for Prevention of Workplace Cruelty is a Non-Profit organization that provides information, expertise, and resources to reduce meanness and cultivate kindness in your workplace.

GOOD NEWS: A RISING TIDE OF DECENCY

Over the past generation, our society has become ever more uncivil, with cruel and demeaning behavior all about us. Drive and you encounter road rage. Send your child to public school and expect to deal with bullying.  Listen to talk media and you will hear trash talk. Watch TV and movies and see even the hero character behave abominably.
Get a job and don't be surprised if bosses or coworkers make your life miserable.

The good news is that the pendulum has  begun to swing back toward decency, and some workplace leaders are marking the way. You can be among them.

GET ON BOARD with Prevent Workplace Cruelty because it is not only right and will not only benefit your business, but it is the wave of the future.

ITEM: The No A..hole Rule.
Leaving aside the crudity of its title, this new best-seller for business cogently describes how the presence of jerks in an operation corrodes the entire enterprise and damages the bottom line.

Some of the most successful businesses of our time, Southwest Airlines and Google for example, embrace this no-jerks paradigm. Isn't this something you should seriously consider?
